Résumé

Luke Walsh

I’ve worked on products from several sides: an early ad exchange, product requirements at Yahoo, access control for gated communities, and running a real-estate software company. Now I build my own with AI.

My product titles add up to a few years. Most of the rest is general management and work in the field, which is where my products come from. My AI work, from intake to release, fits AI consultant and forward-deployed product roles.

  1. Product owner

    Tribus

    to now

Work two lanes, product prototyping and product marketing, across a CMS, an ads platform and a critical project that cannot be named, prototyped with AI-assisted delivery from requirements to launch.

  2. Owner and builder

    My own products

    to now

    • 50RH and Lantern lead, and DeHoardMe is a side project. Each has its own page, which says what is live and what is not.
    • AI writes most of the code. The calls are mine, and they are dated.
  1. Product manager

    FRONTSTEPS, Denver, Colorado

    to

    • Owned the full lifecycle of an access-control product for gated communities: the software that decides who gets into where people live.
    • Led a security-first modernization of a legacy platform’s encryption and data protection.
    • Stabilized a declining product by clearing long-standing defects, and shipped automatic software-update notices for customers.
    • Was the bridge between engineering, sales, support, operations and the executive team.
    • The role ended in a company-wide consolidation.
  2. Product marketing manager

    Yahoo, Sunnyvale, California

    to

    • Wrote the product requirements documents that engineers built network-wide ad features from, and helped set roadmap priorities.
    • Worked with product, sales and engineering on ad-platform strategy and premium revenue across North America and Europe.
    • Led cross-functional work on ad inventory quality and advertiser performance, and presented it to clients.
  1. General manager

    IDX, Eugene, Oregon

    to

    • Ran company-wide operations for a real-estate software company: sales, product, support, marketing and people.
    • Grew annual recurring revenue more than 50% year over year.
    • Kept annual churn under 18% and employee turnover under 10%.
    • Worked directly with the CEO and the private-equity owners on strategy, budgets and priorities, and built the board reporting on churn, recurring revenue and forecasts.
    • Negotiated five-figure annual savings on a mapping API, which raised gross margin.
  2. Director of operations and business development

    IDX, Eugene, Oregon

    to

    • Built a national partner channel of web developers that grew revenue more than 100% year over year.
    • Designed client onboarding, training and support systems that cut churn and support load as the customer base grew.
    • Pushed WordPress integrations and custom mobile apps, which sped up adoption.
    • Ran nationwide training, webinars and technical certifications for developers and brokerages.

    ServiceMaster of Eugene, Eugene, Oregon

    • Drove territory expansion of more than 200%.
    • Secured a disaster-recovery authorization of more than $500K with a large institutional client.
    • Trained commercial clients in disaster preparedness and in mold mitigation after a loss.

    • Hired and trained the customer support staff, and set up HR and internal documentation.
  3. Licensed Realtor

Windermere Real Estate, then JBGoodwin Realtors, Eugene, Oregon, then Austin, Texas

    to

    • Ran my practice as a business of one: marketing, leads, client advice, negotiation, contracts and closing.
    • Managed dozens of residential transactions for buyers, sellers and investors.
    • Kept contractors, inspectors, lenders and escrow on one timeline, and cleared what blocked a deal.
    • From 2021 this ran alongside the startup and product roles.
